Summer brings more than sun-drenched days and warm summer nights; it also brings the chip trucks back to life across the Pontiac. Locals, cottagers and day-trippers alike are drawn to these roadside restaurants that are a staple of our summer fare.
We wanted to know which chip stands rated the highest in the area and why, so we put it out to our Facebook community and here’s what we learned.
The most popular chip stand in the Pontiac is, hands down, Casse-Croute du Village in Quyon (now La Principal) with 50% of the votes. Respondents report that the poutine with white sauce is to die for.
In second place was Taste Buds in Ladysmith with 20%. Feedback on this place was all about the fact that they used buns from the Pontiac Home Bakery.
The Snack Shack in Campbell’s Bay garnered 14%, The Sloans have the market cornered in Campbell’s Bay
The Main Street Chip Stand in Shawville was at 9% and Wings and Things on the Highway had 7% of the votes.
