The ‘Pontiac Community Players’ is a group of amateurs who love the stage and the dramatic arts. Founded in 2000, we have put on innumerable musicals, plays, cabarets, murder-mysteries, radio plays, dramas and comedies. For the twelfth summer in a row, we are presenting a comedy at Coronation Hall in Bristol Village; a much-loved tradition in the community.
The process of putting on a show normally starts back in February in order to be ready for rehearsals through the summer and then our show in August. It is a marathon, not a sprint. It takes dedication, passion, and incredible stamina; it is amazing that so many talented people come out and want to share their talents. In 2020 we did ‘Out of Order’ by Ray Cooney, but due to Covid restrictions, we could only have a small audience. With curfews and restrictions in the first half of 2021, we did not have time to start the process of doing another play.
So we’re doing it again! We are bringing back ‘Out of Order’ for a second year. Our health and safety protocols are in place so that we can have a much bigger audience, and the dinner show has returned. We’re thrilled to bring this fun, silly, and hilarious farce to the stage. If you’re a visitor to the region, make a holiday of it and visit the many other great attractions in the region. Check out Tourisme Pontiac.com for ideas.
